Battling the Spirit of Amalek

Beeri Israel Simchat Torah Attack Battling the Spirit of Amalek Directors Update 2023 ICEJ Sarah Way

“…The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” 2 Samuel 5:20

The date October 31st 1917 remains in the history books as “the last great cavalry, and the finest in history” as 800 heroic men and their courageous horses created a legend by achieving a near impossible military victory.

This week we remember the wonderful legacy of the ANZACs. Today we issue another call to arms.

On October 7th 2023, which was both a Shabbat and the high holiday of Simchat Torah, a brutal massacre was perpetrated by over 2000 Hamas terrorists in which over 1,400 innocent Israelis were tortured and brutally murdered.

Dr Jurgen Buhler President of ICEJ says, “The attack on 7th October is without a doubt rooted in the demonic realm as a manifestation of the Spirit of Amalek” (see Exodus 17:8ff, Deuteronomy 25:17; 1 Samuel 30:3; Esther 3:1 & 8).

Two of the main manifestations of the Spirit of Amalek in biblical history can be found in Exodus 17:8, as Israel was approaching Mt. Sinai, and in the book of Esther as Haman planned to annihilate the Jewish people. These battles were won by unceasing prayer (Exodus 17:9-11) and by three days of fasting (Esther 4:15).

Psalms 83:1 says, “Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head.”

We are praying these same words today.

Inspire brave and bold prayers for Israel on the frontlines and purchase a piece of history – all proceeds will go toward a dedicated Australian bomb shelter for the northern border of Israel.

This week’s Current Affairs webinar is all about ‘How More Christians can Stand With Israel’. It’s hosted by ICEJ VP David Parsons, and features special guests Josh Reinstein and Sharren Haskel, the Director and the Co-Chair of Kenesset Christian Allies Cuacus.

Shabbat Shalom,

The Restoration of Israel

Israel today is a remarkable country. Yet the land of Israel was not always so fruitful. God promised that one day He would come and find His people, no matter how far they had been scattered, and return them to the land promised to Abraham and his descendants as an “everlasting possession.”
