STATEMENT
BONDI TERROR ATTACK ON JEWISH COMMUNITY
14 DECEMBER 2025
The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (Australia Branch) is deeply horrified and in mourning following the mass shooting terror attack on the Jewish community at Bondi Beach. As of the time of this statement, at least 12 people have been reported killed, and 29 injured. This was an unconscionable tragedy that has devastated the Jewish community and shaken our nation to its core.
That this attack occurred while Jewish families were gathered to mark the first night of Chanukah makes it especially devastating. No one should have to fear celebrating their faith and culture in Australia. That Jewish Australians were targeted at a moment of joy makes this act all the more horrific.
We grieve for those who were harmed, for their families, and for the Jewish community across the nation. Our prayers are with all those affected.
Words alone, however, are not enough to capture the weight of this moment. Since 7 October 2023, we have witnessed a disturbing and sustained rise in antisemitism in Australia. Repeated acts of hostility, intimidation and hate have contributed to an environment in which antisemitism has been allowed to take root, paving the way for such a tragedy.
At moments like this, national leadership and moral clarity matter. Antisemitism must be named, rejected and confronted wherever it appears. Strong action must be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice, and to initiate the broader societal change necessary to confront and end the scourge that has taken root in our nation.
Jewish Australians deserve to live openly, safely and without fear in our nation.
To our Jewish friends: we are with you in your grief. You are not alone. ICEJ Australia and its supporters stand alongside you in solidarity and support.
Blessings,
Sarah Way
ICEJ Australia National Director
