I was honoured to attend a very special evening with His Excellency Hillel Newman, Israel’s Ambassador to Australia, shortly after his posting to Australia.
Dr. Hillel gave a warm, inspiring and candid address to those in attendance. I was grateful for the opportunity of a private discussion and be able to acknowledge his positive efforts to rebuild the relationship of our two countries within weeks of taking his post.
The evening featured a thoughtful and meaningful dialogue on the war, the Jewish State, rising antisemitism in Australia, and the evolving geopolitical landscape.
It was a privilege to meet old and new friends among the Jewish community. Especially, highly regarded Jewish leaders to which both Israel and Australia are indebted.
I was humbled to represent you, the ICEJ Australian family, as the only Christian Zionist organisation present at this intimate evening. It was an exceptional night made possible by the Zionist Council of NSW, the Zionist Federation of Australia, United Israel Appeal and the Australasian Union of Jewish Students.
Tuesday the 14th April is the annual heart breaking remembrance of Yom Hashoah, Holocaust and Martyrs Memorial Day. We bow our heads at the memory of an unbelievable and shocking time in history. The same evil was on display before the world on October 7 2023. Both were result of Jew hatred.
ICEJ stands against the worldwide horrifying and growing antisemitism and has called a worldwide summit in Jerusalem in June, 2026.
