Celebrating Israel Independence Day with the Jewish Community
ICEJ Australia was delighted and honoured to be invited to take part in the celebration of Israel’s Independence Day, hosted by our good friends at the Zionist Council of NSW alongside the local Jewish community.
Our team had the privilege of representing your Christian support and love to the Jewish community at the large Sydney event. It was a truly joyful occasion, providing a meaningful opportunity to connect and stand united with Israel and in solidarity with our local Jewish community, particularly in a time of mounting antisemitism. We were warmly received and as we celebrated, danced and embraced each other, it reminded them they are not alone.
Remembering the children
Israeli’s have been sent flying for their bomb shelters, and for many, including children, the effect of October 7 and living in a time of war and uncertainty, is on an ongoing nightmare. Therefore, ICEJ Australia has been asked for our continued assistance in some special programs. Please read about them below.
Renovation of the Therapeutic Animal Corner in Kibbutz Urim
Since last reports on the Animal Corner of Kibbutz Urim, the small animal enclosure has added hamsters and parrots to the rabbit residents and soon will house chickens and other animals. Two therapists work on-site, with two therapy rooms, and as well as animal enclosures, and a large green lawn. And of course, Marty, Australia’s gift therapy horse is delighting young riders. Despite delays due to the ongoing war, there is hope that within a year the covered arena will be in use and the new stables nearing completion.
Expert opinion upholds the value of animal therapy, and this project especially benefits the children from southern Israel near the Gaza Border. ICEJ Aid says, ‘Your help to bring these projects to final completion, and support with ongoing running costs would real blessing….’
Elsewhere in Israel
Other areas of help that your comfort and blessing is required to help young residents to have a bright future, includes Druze children whose community took a direct hit during the war killing several of their friends.
The northern communities have particularly suffered a lot of trauma and disruption. It is an area where there are many low-income families plus many immigrants as well. ICEJ is seeking funding for special programs and rebuilding areas for children’s activities that were destroyed by rocket fire to bring normality and healing to young children.
Thank you from Be’eri
With the return of all the living hostages, the members of Kibbutz Be’eri finally reached the first point of collective closure, allowing them to begin to focus more fully on the responsibility of rebuilding. At the heart of Beeri’s “Building Back Better” mission is the Children’s Youth Centre a project supported by ICEJ. Nieve Higgins, Resource Development and Donor Relations Manager, wrote: “We extend our deepest gratitude to ICEJ’s representatives and management for facilitating this remarkable partnership, one that will remain strong far beyond the date of Be’eri’s members’ return…You have stood with us from the very beginning, and your partnership is the ultimate proof that after unimaginable darkness, there is indeed Light after Darkness. Thank you for standing by our side.”
One of the children of Be’eri: Nine-year-old Noga used to fill entire walls with flowers, figures, and houses drawn in bright colours. But on October 7th, she spent eight terrifying hours crammed into a safe room with her mother, listening to gunshots and screams outside. Since that day, Noga has stopped drawing. She became silent and withdrawn, only sitting quietly beside others. In the temporary Centre, her counsellor gently encouraged her by giving her space at the art table. For weeks she just sat and stared…until one day she drew a line, then another, and finally, a little girl in a pink dress. When asked about Be’eri, Noga whispered only one question: “Is my wall still there?” For Noga, rebuilding the Childrens Youth Centre isn’t just about a building. It’s about finding herself again.
Your TAX Deductable gift will help many children in other communities – just like Noga.

We are urgently convening the Jerusalem Summit. Our aim is to equip Christian leaders to understand and respond to modern antisemitism, to restore biblical clarity on Israel, covenant and the Church, and to strengthen the Church’s public and theological witness in a time of confusion.
This summit is intentionally practical. Participants will receive usable teaching from leading theologians and experts around the world, pastoral tools and resources ready for immediate implementation in churches, Bible schools and leadership networks. This is meant to be taught, preached and lived.
The Jerusalem Summit is especially for pastors, theologians, Bible teachers and leaders responsible for doctrine, education and public witness — for all who love Israel and care about the integrity of the Church. I urge you to give the Jerusalem Summit priority.
