ICEJ’s Submission to the Royal Commission into Antisemitism and Social Cohesion
Joint Submission by Concerned Christians on Antisemitism, Social Cohesion, Faith Leadership and National Resilience.
Truth, Transformation and Hope
A coalition of major Christian organisations, backed by hundreds of Christian leaders, pastors, business leaders and community members, has lodged a landmark submission to the Royal Commission into Antisemitism and Social Cohesion, conservatively representative of tens of thousands of individuals across Australia.
Complementing the submission is the Christian Declaration Against Antisemitism, the first national declaration of its kind endorsed by Australian Christian leaders. It makes a clear, principled stand against antisemitism and pledges to stand alongside the Jewish community through peaceful action and moral clarity, not mere words.
Our submission embraces that opportunity, recognising that Christians must stand side by side with Jewish Australians in this endeavour.
The accompanying Christian Declaration Against Antisemitism unequivocally condemns antisemitism in all its forms, including antisemitism expressed through anti-Zionism. It acknowledges the Church’s responsibility to confront anti-Jewish prejudice, declares solidarity with the Jewish community, and commits Christians to peaceful action in their defence.
The Declaration remains open for additional signatories. Christians across Australia are encouraged to add their names, demonstrate their faith through action, and stand united with the Jewish community against antisemitism.
Thank you for your support,
Sarah Way
