The Unfulfilled Prophetic Feasts 🌾🎺

From Repentance to Rejoicing Unfulfilled Prophetic Feasts ICEJ Day of Atonement Rosh HaShana Feast of Tabernacles 2023 Sarah Way

The prophetic 5th Festival of the seven God appointed meetings with Him, Rosh HaShana was observed one week ago. Its Biblical name is Yom Teruah, lit. ‘The Day of Blowing’, usually translated as the Feast of Trumpets. The sound of the ram’s horn, based on various scriptures, is the sound of crying out to God. It is a wakeup call to prepare for God’s coming judgement and an expectation of a coming King.

Rosh HaShana began an intense ten days of individual prayer and retrospection, seeking forgiveness and forgiving, and putting wrongs right. It culminates in Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, when the Jewish nation comes before God in long, solemn prayer services, seeking forgiveness. This year, Yom Kippur begins on Sunday night and it too is prophetic and awaiting fulfilment. We read Daniel’s description of a Judgement Day at the end of days in chapter 7:9-14. Revelation 20:4 and Matthew 25:31-46 also refer to a day of judgement.

Then, five days later, the most joyous feast of all the Feast of Tabernacles, Sukkot meaning ‘booths or shelters’, is celebrated for seven days. It is also called z’man simchateinu, meaning ‘The Time of Our Rejoicing’. It is a joyful celebration, enjoying the Presence of God as He commanded in Leviticus 23:40, “You shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.

It is a time of remembering the wilderness journey and God’s care. “You shall dwell in booths for seven days, all native Israelites shall dwell in booths, that your descendants will know that I had the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out of Egypt.” Leviticus 23:42- 43.

And it is a feast to which the gentiles are invited! Click below to learn more.

Participants in the 2023 ICEJ Australian Feast Tour group will have the joy of being part of that rejoicing. And you too can experience Tabernacles, by registering for the online Feast!

In Deuteronomy 16:16 the pilgrims to the Feasts are instructed, “not to appear before the LORD empty-handed.” And our tour group will represent you in Jerusalem as they bring a gift. This offering will significantly contribute to the wellbeing of children who suffer trauma from being involved in a terror attack.
