Israel in Crisis has a Future and a Hope

Nicole Yoder one of ICEJ’s Vice Presidents and Director of ICEJ AID, was able to pay a visit to Australia. A number of meetings were arranged for Nicole to share her recent experiences. Click below to hear more of Nicole speaking at Southland Church, in Adelaide.

Previously, Nicole had shared with tears what the AID team witnessed when they visited communities in which sirens had wailed repeatedly and families had run to shelters, many times barely making its safety. Residents grateful for the sympathy and interest showed the team where residential buildings were destroyed and families made homeless. As gentiles we are called in Gods’ word to be participants of blessing and supporting Israel.

Be a part of the call to comfort Israel (Isaiah 40:1).

HELP CHILDREN WITH TRAUMA TREATMENT

There has never been more urgently required trauma therapy than for thousands of Israeli children who have suffered heartbreak and trauma resulting from the Oct 7 invasion. ICEJ has assisted in the provision of trauma treatment centres which includes counseling music therapy and equestrian and small animal therapy.

Different groups come there on different days to ride and care for horses or interact with other animals: a group of teens all of whom have lost their parents; First Responders of Oct 7 whose minds are seared with the horrors they witnessed that day; relatives of the Bibas family; and others. Ongoing funds are still needed for the upkeep and ongoing programs and development of bomb shelters, to help rebuild lives and communities.

CHILDREN'S CENTRE IN KIBBUTZ BE'ERI

ICEJ is funding the rebuilding of this important Children’s Centre, which was destroyed on October 7th. On that terrible day, Dor shouted at the terrorists from his balcony, while Gefen hid alone, unseen. Since then, Dor’s anger erupts easily, while Gefen barely speaks. Still, when the friends are together, words aren’t needed. They build puzzles side by side or kick a ball in silence. One day Dor admitted quietly: “I just want to go back there. To the Centre. There, we knew what to do. There, we weren’t afraid.” The children don’t just long to play, they long to feel secure again, to return to the one place where they knew they were protected.’

ICEJ is hoping to bless more children which includes the northern areas which suffered so much from missile attacks and the those of the Druze community who witnessed the terrible tragedy of a missile strike killing many of their playmates.

Many young people were badly affected by Oct 7, by the hostage crisis and by missiles. They have missed schooling because of security problems and some have got on the wrong track. There are ways in which ICEJ can assist. ICEJ’ aid project a Future and a Hope is giving them and others who need it, a gentle ‘push’ in the right direction says Nicole Yoder.

ICEJ are working on projects around “Children and Youth at Risk”, “Education and Economic Empowerment”, and “Hope for the Disadvantaged”.

FOREIGNERS WILL REBUILD YOUR WALLS

When ICEJ Aid Director saw the beginning of the foundations of the Beeri Children’s Centre go up, she was reminded on the passage in Isaiah 60:10, “Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will serve you. Though in anger I struck you, in favour I will show you compassion.”

This recent article by Howard Flower ICEJ Director of Aliyah is relevant. He links prophetic verses together:

‘The walls of a city represent security, identity, and a future. After seasons of war and destruction, when the breaches seem permanent, this verse promises that outsiders, people who were not part of the covenant family, will physically come to restore those broken fortifications. Older translations capture it vividly: “the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls.” The promise is not of passive blessing from afar, but of active, strengthening work.’

The Restoration of Israel ICEJ Australia

The Restoration of Israel

Israel today is a remarkable country. Yet the land of Israel was not always so fruitful. God promised that one day He would come and find His people, no matter how far they had been scattered, and return them to the land promised to Abraham and his descendants as an “everlasting possession.”
