The start of 2026 was marked as a painful milestone in the long journey of recovery for Kibbutz Be’eri. All but one house has been torn down – preserved as a lasting testimony to the horrors of the October 7 terror invasion from nearby Gaza. During a recent visit, ICEJ staff witnessed the youth activity centre taking shape, thanks to the generous donations we have received from Christians in 26 different nations. When families return next year, the building will once again echo with children’s laughter and become a place where new memories and lifelong friendships are formed. See what your donations are doing.
Aliyah Wave of 7000 coming from Ethiopia and India foretold by the Hebrew Prophets
“In that day the Lord will reach out His hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of His people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean. He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; He will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four.” Isaiah (11:11-12)
The Hebrew prophets not only foresaw many centuries ago the modern-day Jewish return to Israel, they also provided very specific geographic areas from where they will come. This year we are witnessing these remarkable promises unfold through the rescue Aliyah efforts underway from Ethiopia and Northeast India.
The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ) is privileged to stand with these two quarters of the earth exile communities, by working with the Jewish Agency for Israel to turn this prophecy into a practical reality and will sponsor the first 100 Ethiopians from the war‑torn Amhara and Tigray regions of northern Ethiopia.
ISRAEL AND THE CHRISTIAN WORLD
In April of this year, 2026, The Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar appointed George Deek as Special Envoy to the Christian World. ICEJ welcomes this wonderful decision.
George Deek is a veteran diplomat with 18 years of experience, and is the first Christian ambassador in Israel’s history. He is a recipient of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director General’s Award for Excellence.
He is a member of the Arab Christian community in Jaffa and has been active in the community from a young age. His father, Youssef Deek, served for many years as Chairman of the Orthodox Christian community in Jaffa and in Israel.
He recently conducted an online exclusive briefing with Australian pastors and leaders.
SEARCHING HEARTS
The 6th Biblical month is called Elul, which according to Jewish tradition, begins a period of 40 days of searching hearts and lives before the LORD, and examining and repairing relationships with others. It was the First Day of the 6th month that Moses again ascended Mt Sinai to receive a second set of tablets of the Ten Commandments.
Following the shameful idolatrous episode of the golden calf, Moses broke the first tablets to symbolise the broken covenant. However, God was giving them a second chance. What a picture of the grace of God that we can appropriate. Sinfulness and failure is not the end, God responds to true repentance. He is the God of second…and third…chances. The 40 days ends on the holy Day of Atonement.
