We thank those who have promptly donated to our URGENT appeal to bring back beauty and hope into shattered lives of families near the Gaza boarder, but we have a long way to go!
ICEJ Australia has been asked to fund a large multipurpose, missile protected room next to a school for both children and adults to receive professional trauma therapy. This Resilience Centre Project will benefit returning residents that are shattered by the atrocities of October 7, the loss of loved ones, homes and the ongoing war.
RESTORING ISRAEL TOGETHER
The region in Israel extends over 45,000 acres and comprises of several kibbutzim near the Gaza Border. The area is considered the ‘green lung’ of the northern Negev Desert and has achieved high standards of agriculture, industry and technology. It has warmly welcomed many new immigrants into its communities.
Thousands of Israelis visit the area each early March during Regional Council’s Darom Adom /Scarlet South Festival to view the carpets of brilliant red flowers that erupt into brilliance at the end of winter. The festival was founded by Vered and her husband Ofer Libstein of Kfar Aza, to offer hope and delight in the area when it began to suffer frequent rocket attacks from Gaza. It has developed into one of Israel’s largest nature events.
Sadly, there was no festival last spring. Instead, long with countles others, on October 7, Vered lost her husband who was head of the Regional Council and a good friend of ICEJ, her 19 year old son, her mother, her nephew and many other fellow residents.
Bring Hope back to the Kibbutz communities near the Gaza Boarder. Help us build a large Trauma therapy building repurposed as a missile protective shelter. We want to urgently raise the funds to complete the job for the start of the school year. With your help ICEJ Australia can fund an entire 15 sqm protective room, one of ten required.
