ICEJ Australia Half Yearly Report on works in Israel

A Look Back At This Year So Far:
ICEJ Australia Half Yearly Report

Giving

This past financial year, the Australian Branch of ICEJ has contributed $951, 457 to aid projects throughout the land. We sent a call to action for the Children’s Centre at Kibbutz Beeri, the Small Animal Therapy Centre (petting zoo) at Kibbitz Urim and the upkeep of Marty the therapy horse, enabling more therapy sessions for those who need it most after the tragedy of October 7. So far, we have contributed $365,608 to comfort the Israeli people during one of the most challenging times in its history.

Visits to Jerusalem

Later in the year, in May, I set off to Israel again, along with Mark Mudri, ICEJ Board Chairman and Government Liaison. We attended the annual Leadership Conference, where it was a special honour to be part of a groundbreaking ceremony with representatives from Kibbutz Be’eri. Our branch is fundraising to completely rebuild their children’s activity centre, which was destroyed during the October 7 massacre. Please consider a special donation towards this much needed project.

Ten From Every Nation

Australian Israel Caucus
Australian Israel Caucus relaunched

In March, we were excited to come alongside other Christian Zionist organisations to participate in a historic and significant event in Australia’s political landscape – the relaunch of Israel Allies Foundation Australia (IAF) in Canberra. Thirty-five members of our Parliament committed to taking action in their electorates to speak up against antisemitism, promote acceptance and tolerance for all Australians and stand with Israel in government.

Thinc Training Conference

In May, ICEJ was represented at the Hague Initiative for International Cooperation’s (thinc) annual training conference in the Netherlands. Thinc is an organisation which combats the misuse of international law against Israel. The conference included theoretical and practical training on countering anti-Israel lawfare at the UN and international courts. Our advocacy team is also cross-collaborating with thinc on a number of key projects, including monthly briefings on developments at the UN. This further builds on our existing partnership with thinc, which has supported our efforts to counter misinformation here at home and keep our government-level stakeholders, including the IAF, informed about emerging issues concerning Israel and international law.

Advocacy Events In Adelaide

In June, I stood in solidarity with Jewish and Christian leaders from Adelaide to hear the truth about Israel. His Excellency Amir Maimon, Israel’s Ambassador to Australia gave us first-hand reports from the war on the ground. The warmth and unity in the room was tangible, a catalyst to meaningful support for Israel and local Jewish community. We honoured many who are leading the charge to strengthen community cohesion. Yossi Eshed inspired us with the remarkable work of IsraAID that continues despite the unbelievable pressures of war to its Aid commitments in disaster zones around the world.

Comforting The Jewish Community In Melbourne

It was also special to be in Melbourne this month, just one week after the vile antisemitic attacks on the East Melbourne Hebrew Congregation and a Jewish restaurant in Melbourne’s CBD. It was a privilege to be there to connect with the Jewish community and stand in solidarity with them during this challenging time.

ICEJ volunteers in Melbourne also attended a special service at the synagogue to show our support. ICEJ will continue to advocate for decisive action from our leaders to eradicate antisemitism once and for all. Additionally, ICEJ recently donated $1500 to local security to help keep the Jewish community safe.

Advocating For Israel And The Jewish People

In addition to the above events, ICEJ’s highlights in the advocacy space over the past year include:

  • Advocating for stronger government policies in support of Israel and against antisemitism, including equipping IAF members and other senior MPs with information and tools for action

  • Organising and attending joint Jewish-Christian events to show our solidarity and support

  • Progressing the development of Holocaust Museums

  • Matchmaking Christian inventors and businesses to Israeli tech that strengthens partnerships between our nations to bless the world.

ICEJ Personnel Updates

ICEJ Australia’s team is growing, which has been an amazing answer to prayer. We have welcomed Stuart Ainslie and Tukini Tuvi to the Advisory Council.

Pastor Tony Hallo from Townsville recently joined as our Church Engagement Ambassador. Pastor Tony had the following to share regarding his new role: “What a privilege for me, to be serving as an Ambassador at Large to the churches of Australia for ICEJ. Israel has been a part of our lives and in our ministry of 57 years, but more so now as we devote and dedicate ourselves to the ministries of ICEJ. It also exciting to see doors opening around Australia and pastors of many different denominations beckoning us to come and share God’s vision and plan for Israel. Thank you ICEJ for the honour and privilege of working with you.”

We are also thrilled to have welcomed another member to our Operations Team – Levi Shalom, who is providing much needed assistance to our Social Media team. Levi is a dedicated and passionate individual originally from India, now based in Sydney, Australia. With a heart rooted in the belief of “Loving God, Loving People,” Levi brings a strong sense of purpose and compassion to everything he does.  He is excited to be part of ICEJ Australia, where he contributes to a mission that aligns with his personal values and spiritual convictions.

The Restoration of Israel ICEJ Australia

The Restoration of Israel

Israel today is a remarkable country. Yet the land of Israel was not always so fruitful. God promised that one day He would come and find His people, no matter how far they had been scattered, and return them to the land promised to Abraham and his descendants as an “everlasting possession.”
