Israel and the Church – A Theological Challenge

Israel Cross Sarah Way Director's update 2023

We are the first generation of Christians who have had to deal theologically with a phenomenon that did not exist for 1900 years of Church history – Israel’s re-emergence as a nation. This fulfilled biblical prophecies which (Acts 1:6-7). Are we in the days the early Apostles longed to see, when God would restore the kingdom to Israel? And how should the Church relate to this new situation?

For many centuries, the only face of Christianity that Jewish people experienced was the ugly one of anti-Semitism. ICEJ has existed in Jerusalem for over 40 years, and connects the global church with Israel to demonstrate another face of the Church to the Jewish people.

One of the most impacting aid initiatives is the Holocaust Survivor Home that we have been supporting for decades. Were you aware that a quarter of survivors living in Israel live below the poverty line? Prayerfully consider a generous donation today.

One of our Australian team members was there this week visiting the Director of Haifa Home, Yudit Setz. They are pictured with two Holocaust survivors in the Community Room, where they enjoy the opportunity to be creative and engage in meaningful fellowship with others.

Shabbat Shalom,

Sarah Way
