Gratefully Reporting on Shiloh’s Horseback
Therapy Centre Project
Last year a call went out to ICEJ Australia to assist a Therapy Centre in Shiloh in Israel’s Biblical Heartland.
One of the therapies offered is Therapeutic Horseback Riding which has proved an invaluable tool. However, to provide such a service during the hot summer months, shade over the yard for horse and rider was required and the Centre approached ICEJ Aid for help. Horses helping Israel is part of Australia’s history, so in the spirit of the Light Horse legacy ICEJ Australia arose to the occasion and raised the amount required. Thank you to all who contributed!
Modern Shiloh stands next to where the Tabernacle in the Wilderness stood for over 300 years following the entry into the Promised Land.
Sadly, like others who live in the area of Samaria, residents of modern Shiloh have suffered from terror attacks. A father and his three year old son were seriously injured in a shooting attack on their car. The wounds healed but the trauma for the little boy remained. Along with others in the community, the father developed the Therapy Centre including horseback riding to help his son and other children affected by terror attacks.
The outbreak of war delayed construction and prevented our Aid Department being able to visit the completed project. Now we are thrilled to bring you photos of what you achieved.
NEW APPEAL IN ISRAEL’S SOUTH - HORSE WANTED!
More than ever, Equine therapy is needed for Israel’s traumatised population and especially now in the south. Another horse is required at the Urim Farm stables for the growing demand for horseback riding and Australia has been asked to provide one.
BY MY SPIRIT
The participants at this year’s Feast made a huge impact on Israel. The security and airline issues resulted in only a small number attending, but still, the Feast went ahead and it was not unnoticed by the media with both English and Hebrew outlets reporting on it enthusiastically, including President Herzog’s videotaped message. Recognizing that the ICEJ is an important part of the solution to hatred, brutality, and evil, he thanked the Feast of Tabernacles participants for coming to Israel during its darkest hours.
The theme of this year’s Feast was By My Spirit. Read just how relevant that was.
