Happy Jerusalem Day!
Beginning Tuesday evening, Jerusalem celebrated 57 years since the reunification of the city with Jerusalem Day. With a population of 1,005,900 in 2022, Jerusalem’s population is double that of Tel Aviv’s, according to the latest census figures. We believe this number to be a reflection of God’s longstanding promises regarding this most holy city. But why is Jerusalem so important to us as Christians in 2024?
One way to determine the importance of a subject in the Bible is to see how often it is mentioned. By this measure, Jerusalem appears to be quite significant, as it is directly mentioned over 800 times in Scripture. If we add synonyms and endearing terms, such as “Zion,” we get another 165 times— that’s almost 1,000 verses that mention Jerusalem, the only city declared “holy” in the Bible.
God makes choices. We find a key passage in the book of Psalms: “For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place: ‘This is My resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it,’” (Psalm 132:13–14). So, Jerusalem is a chosen dwelling place for the presence of God.

ICEJ Asia-Pacific Conference Update
I attended the recent ICEJ Asia Pacific Conference in Manilla last week along with numerous National Directors and leadership from ICEJ Jerusalem. All praise and glory to God for the precious opportunity to spend quality time together, witnessing profound and humbling testimonies building our faith and strengthening each other for this great mission!
The theme was ‘Building up one another to bless Israel and our nations’. The Lord truly engineered and designed it all according to His plan and purpose. This event left an unforgettable deep impression on all participants.
One highlight was meeting His Excellency IIan Fluss, Ambassador of Israel to the Philippines, his address was especially moving. We were all inspired by the passionate and dedicated efforts of the Philippines team who were incredible hosts.
