The very first graduating class of Adam V’Adama agro-tech school celebrated two years of work, growth, and friendship surrounded by the community they’ve served in Sde Nitzan and their families who arrived from all around Israel.
True to their trailblazing and industriously independent spirit, the students arranged this event, homemade pasta and quiche for their guests, sang songs, and gave commencement speeches.
As the Royal Commission continues with its appalling testimonies of antisemitism, ICEJ Australia prepared and led a joint and comprehensive submission to the Royal Commission to make clear that thousands of Christian leaders and organisations, Church and denominational leaders stand with the Jewish community in Australia. Just days before Jews in Israel were to celebrate the festival of Purim, the war with the radical Iranian regime ignited. Many Purim celebrations wound up taking place in bomb shelters, even as Israel had hoped that the modern-day Haman—the militant Ayatollahs in Iran—would be brought down.
Shavuot is the spring harvest festival held 50 days after Passover which also marks the giving of the Law to the people of Israel at Mount Sinai. Christians mark the Day of Pentecost which is when the Holy Spirit fell on the early followers of Jesus gathered for Shavuot in Jerusalem and the Church was born in fire.
During Israel’s tense war with Iran, the ICEJ Homecare team was extra busy with added home visits. Homecare nurse Corrie van Maanen also made sure a milestone birthday did not go unnoticed, as Luba turned 100 years old!
On Yom HaShoah (Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day), we remember the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust, and the many brave Jews who rose up to resist the evil Nazi regime. We also honor the legacy and courage of those who survived. More than ever, we carry the responsibility to educate future generations about the horrors inflicted by the Nazi regime.
