The ICEJ is humbled to stand with some of Israel’s most vulnerable children in the aftermath of Iran’s missile barrages, particularly the children at ALEH Care Centre in Bnei Brak whose lives depend on constant care, medical support, and stability.
The exodus from Egypt was not just a departure. It was a divine transfer of wealth and embedded in that event was a promise that would echo across millennia.
Our team had the privilege of representing your Christian support and love to the Jewish community at the large Sydney event. It was a truly joyful occasion, providing a meaningful opportunity to connect and stand united with Israel and in solidarity with our local Jewish community, particularly in a time of mounting antisemitism.
Just days before Jews in Israel were to celebrate the festival of Purim, the war with the radical Iranian regime ignited. Many Purim celebrations wound up taking place in bomb shelters, even as Israel had hoped that the modern-day Haman—the militant Ayatollahs in Iran—would be brought down.
Shavuot is the spring harvest festival held 50 days after Passover which also marks the giving of the Law to the people of Israel at Mount Sinai. Christians mark the Day of Pentecost which is when the Holy Spirit fell on the early followers of Jesus gathered for Shavuot in Jerusalem and the Church was born in fire.
During Israel’s tense war with Iran, the ICEJ Homecare team was extra busy with added home visits. Homecare nurse Corrie van Maanen also made sure a milestone birthday did not go unnoticed, as Luba turned 100 years old!
On Yom HaShoah (Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day), we remember the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust, and the many brave Jews who rose up to resist the evil Nazi regime. We also honor the legacy and courage of those who survived. More than ever, we carry the responsibility to educate future generations about the horrors inflicted by the Nazi regime.
Mourning changed to dancing last Tuesday evening as Israel’s Memorial Day for fallen soldiers and victims of terror concluded, and celebrations began for Modern Israel’s 78th year.
I was honoured to attend a very special evening with His Excellency Hillel Newman, Israel’s Ambassador to Australia, shortly after his posting to Australia. The evening featured a thoughtful and meaningful dialogue on the war, the Jewish State, rising antisemitism in Australia, and the evolving geopolitical landscape.

Holocaust survivor Solly Ganor, living in Herzliya, Israel wrote up a remarkable story about a Passover seder he experienced, 70 years ago. The seder took place on March 27, 1945, in Dachau, the notorious Nazi concentration camp. He was a youngster at the time, a slave labouring in the death camp where hundreds of thousands perished.
Over 80 participants including Christian Zionist Leaders, Pastors and Church representatives of different denominations, met Israel’s new Ambassador to Australia, His Excellency Ambassador Hillel Newman, in an online gathering earlier in March 2026.
